Q&A with Jeannette Ogden of Shutthekaleup
Jeannette is the first “influencer” I followed. She still remains my favorite, and an inspiration to this day. As cliche as it sounds, she’s just so real. She doesn’t play games to get more followers, she simply shares her day-to-day life with her family, and has built an extremely loyal following for doing so. Basically, she rocks.
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
My name is Jeannette Ogden, creator of STKU. I'm the mama to Elliott Grey, wife to AJ and I basically share my life with you all through Instagram. Lover of all things family, fitness, well being, self care and REAL FOOD. I enjoy good music, love cold weather and travel. I'm also incredibly honest, real and always share what's on my mind without having to say sorry.
What was the inspiration behind STKU?
Finding a balanced lifestyle, REAL FOOD and family. After growing up in a messed up home and having an eating disorder, I wanted to share the life I made for myself with my husband and our faith.
What advice do you have for someone who wants to start their own brand?
Be authentic to who you are and put out what you love. It's not about numbers or free shit, it's about you helping others by sharing your gifts.
What do you love most about yourself?
I'm compassionate and constantly want to help strangers. It's something that's always on my heart.
Take us through a day in the life of Jeannette. We want all the deets!
Wake up, hit the gym (5 days a week, usually), get home, make breakfast, get bub and I ready for our day and GO! We love going to parks, pools as well as wander to our local ecology center, meet up with moms and their babes so they can all play and end at home for dinner and bath time! AJ and I will get alone time after bub goes down for bed and that's when the party begins. We'll whip out snacks and watch something on TV all cuddled up on the couch. That's our typical day usually.
And lastly, what makes you feel like a kween?
Having a healthy family and family business that AJ and I enjoy doing. It's such a blessing and I never take this life for granted.
